More Donny Deutsch!

I feel like every time I watch The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch I feel more and more motivated and inspired. Those entrepreneurial feelings have stayed with me since Friday. My creative juices are flowing. Now I just need to try to focus on what I want to start first.

Entrepreneurial Spirit

Been watching a lot of Donny Deutsch lately. I just realized I had been spelling his name wrong for the past week or so. Anyway, watching his show has made me feel really restless and motivated to get up and do something. I am considering starting up a business on my own. Who knows what will happen?

Well, I’ll let this feeling sink in overnight and see if I feel the same in the morning.

Tila Tequila’s breakup.

I read on Tila Tequila’s blog the other day that she and Bobby had already broken up.

Some would say it is sad, but…in some ways, I was expecting it. I didn’t think the relationship would end so quickly, of course, but I didn’t think it would really last in the long run. Due to Tila’s heightened celebrity status and Bobby’s tendencies to be jealous, I can see why the relationship didn’t last.

Some people speculate this is all a “scam,” that Tila wasn’t really interested in Bobby in the first place. Some are saying that Tila is coming back to MTV for the second season of “A Shot at Love”. I’m not going to speculate at all and just let the poor girl be. There will always be critics in the world I guess.

In other news, today I nearly fell out of a bus. Seriously, every time I ride the bus through Chinatown, I feel like it’s the worst time to be on the bus. Yeah, so I’m Chinese, and I’m pretty much “in” with the people who frequent Chinatown. But come on, people, learn some manners! They always crowd onto the bus as if it’s the last boat leaving the mainland to America (so harsh yet so true…you’d have to be here to see it). I was trying to get off the bus at my stop, but so many of them were looking at me as if I were telling them they needed to get off the bus and walk or something. They wouldn’t budge to let me out! So I had to push my way out, and I was nearly dangling out the door and feared I would fall out. Luckily, I escaped with no injuries, but I was pretty pissed off when I got off the bus. I’ve braved that crowd many times already since I’ve moved here, but for some reason today it seemed a lot worse than usual.

Shot at Love Season Finale

Sigh. So, “A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila” is over, and I am a little disappointed in the outcome. Tila chose Bobby in the end, leaving Dani heartbroken and such. It made me kind of angry, but oh well. I thought Dani took it all well in some ways, even though I could tell she was very hurt by the decision. Still, at least there wasn’t any drama or bitter feelings (blatantly) shown.

I guess in the end, though, it was probably best that Dani didn’t end up with Tila. Not to downplay reality TV couples or celebrity couples, but a lot of times, these relationships do not work out perfectly, especially when people are very nosy about the relationship. Unless Tila and Bobby are smart about keeping their relationship details private, I don’t see them staying together for too long. If they do stay together, well, more power to them, but I really don’t see that happening. Maybe Tila will get tired of Bobby, or vice versa. If the relationship goes bad, would they still be able to stay friends? Who knows.

This is the reason why I hate getting wrapped up in shows. I get so worked up over the little details that I tend to forget that I have my own life to worry about.

Reality TV Celebrity-dom

So it seems like reality television is really riding on its high wave as of late. I know I am behind on the whole ‘trend’ but still–seems like every channel I click to, there’s at least one reality TV show going on, if not gazillions! It’s gotten to the point where I feel like the market has become super saturated–as much as all these TV networks want to make money off of new “shows” through this genre, I think they’re really running dry at this point.

I wonder how exactly one of those shows work. Obviously most of the shows are pre-taped so the editors/producers can extract only the juiciest/most interesting parts of reality. The people who sign up to participate–are they doing the show because they want some quick fame? It’s crazy–I’ve been following the show “A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila” and…although I enjoy watching the show and have really become captivated by it, it amuses me how all the participants from the show are now all of the sudden super-celebrities (well, at least on the web). When will their 15 minutes of fame be up? It’s just insane to me–you do a dating show, but in the end, what do you get out of it and what was it that you sought before you joined? Fame? Or really, true love?

In some ways I guess I kind of want to be on a reality TV show, but in many other ways, I’m quite content being Ms. Anonymous to the world.
