Daily Post Day 32: Is the Glass Half-Empty or Half-Full?

Are you an optimist, a pessimist, or something else?

I could go either way depending on my mood. On some days, my outlook is so optimistic that it’s intoxicating to myself and others.

On other days, I can be a complete Debbie Downer.

I guess most people can say this about themselves. As far as I can recall, I have yet to meet someone who is a complete optimist or a complete pessimist. I believe I have met more pessimists than optimists though.

Daily Post Day 31: My Own Reality TV Show

Funny that today’s prompt is asking about what kind of reality TV show I would have (if I had the chance).

I was actually talking about this with my two sisters over the holidays (mentioned this a few days ago, actually); we were making a joke about some drama our extended family was having by saying, “Hey, our family has more drama than a novel!”

What resulted from this discussion was that we would need to change our names to start with the same consonant (a la Kardashians). We three sisters then proceeded to laugh as we tried to figure out the best consonant to go with: W, C, L, H, or..could we go with the vowel, A?

We’d have an entertaining reality show…wouldn’t even need to be put into staged situations. Enough happens in our family (amusing things) to not need scripts; just check out my Tumblr if you need some proof. 😉

By the way, today (Jan. 31) is my birthday, and I feel so loved by all the messages I’ve received already today.

Daily Post Day 30: Technology I Can’t Live Without

I can’t decide what I can’t live without when it comes to technology.

  1. iPhone – I want to say I can live without this darned thing, but since it does so much for me (and I love the camera especially), I would be a bit sad without it. Of course, I could do without a lot of the apps I have on my phone…if I only had the camera, text messaging, and phone calls, I’d be content. The apps are what drive me crazy.
  2. iPod Nano – Yes, I have an iPod Nano as well. If I had to choose between iPhone and iPod, I’d stay with iPod for its sole purpose of music, music, music. If I were on a deserted island, the iPod would be my best friend. But, I would need a charger. Without music, I would be numb.

Daily Post Day 29: Ranting Session

What’s driving me crazy these days?

That’s easy to answer: a lot of change going on! And the fact that even though I am physically removed from a place I used to love, I must still read about how “in love” my peers are with that city.

I’ll just go ahead and say the name: San Francisco. I used to be really enamored with the city, feeling my heart fill with joy every time I saw its landmarks in magazines/pictures/etc. I remember crossing the Bay Bridge into San Francisco and feeling happy seeing the cityscape.

Somewhere in the past three and a half years, I fell out of love with San Francisco. I thought I could hold on just a little bit longer because of my loved ones who reside there, but I just couldn’t do it anymore.

I can’t dislike anyone who continues to harp about the greatness of San Francisco. After all, everyone has different experiences wherever they go. I just know, for myself, I have had some traumatic times in San Francisco in only the past year.

I know, people say to persevere. And I am…but I know that right now, San Francisco is not the place for me to be.

Daily Post Day 28: To Live Forever, or not?

I’m sure everyone thinks about this question a lot (Do you want to live forever?)

Without thinking, I would say “YES!” But, knowing how I work, I would end up over-thinking this question and realizing, “Oh no, I wouldn’t want to live forever.”

Think about it this way: If I were the ONLY person in the world to live forever (as a human, on this Earth), I wouldn’t want to be seeing generations of my loved ones passing away. That would be sad to see, although at the same time it’d be a glorious thing (to be able to meet so many of my descendants).

If EVERYONE were to live forever as humans on this Earth, that would be a different situation, and that would elicit a different response from me.

Then again, in my religion, we all DO live forever…at least our souls do. WHERE we live forever is a whole other question.
